Regular Season Champions, finish 11-2-2 (8-2-2)

With a 3-1 win over Merrimack College on Feb 11th, the men's hockey team took home their first regular season championship since 2009. With this win the Bobcats finished the regular season with an overall record of 11-2-2 and 8-2-2 in league play. This also gives Bates the number one overall seed for the NECHA playoffs.

It was quite the battle to get to this point, however. Bates had to beat St. Anslem's College twice in the same weekend and then beat Merrimack on the road in order to take the title, and the Cats were able to do just that. They beat St. A's 5-3 at home on Friday night and then 5-2 on the road on Sunday. They were also able to take down Bridgewater State on Saturday on their road trip by a score of 5-4. These wins set up a winner take all showdown at Merrimack, where three powerplay goals lifted Bates 3-1.

They will take on Bridgewater State University in the first round of the playoffs.
