Playoff Recap: Upton Lifts Bates with 0:05 Left

Bates played Bridgewater State on Saturday Feb. 15th, in what was a rematch of a game played just a week earlier. Fueled by the top line of Chris DeBrase '14, Sean Thomas '14 , and Mark Upton '17, and stellar goal tending fromMatt Mosca'14 the Bobcats were able to take home a 4-3 win, and a spot in Sunday's championship game.

After a scoreless first period, Thomas came out scoring two goals in the second period to keep Bates in the game and would go into the third period tied 2-2. The Bobcats then struck first in the third as DeBrase buried home a rebound from a Thomas shot. Bridgewater was able to respond, putting the game at a 3-3 tie with under a minute left. This is where Thomas brought the puck into the Bears zone, walked behind the net and was able to find Upton in the slot. Upton was able to put it in the top right corner with 5 seconds remaining, giving Bates the 4-3 lead.
